Last year we discussed Dutch Clark's Missing 1937 MVP Award which was presented to Clark for "highest standard of play" and "outstanding sportsmanship". The sponsor of the award was the Gruen Watch Co. who also was the sponsor for the Official NFL MVP in 1938, which later was renamed the Joe F. Carr Trophy.

Here, Mel Hein of the New York Giants is pictured receiving the MVP Award, which appears to be a watch from Gruen. It is being presented by NFL President Joseph Carr before the NFL Championship game between the Giants and Packers on December 11, 1938.
