He won 4 rushing titles during this span. Sanders only won 2 and none of the others you picked won any. Craig was more of an 80s guy since he never posted 1,000 yards after 1989 (even in total from scrimmage) and retired after 1993. If Smith was excluded simply because he didn't start until 1990 then Sanders, who didn't start until 1989, should have been left off too as a "1990s guy".Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03664041256947312381noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4958997061437462003.post-10057701247673457212016-05-25T00:44:11.259-06:002016-05-25T00:44:11.259-06:00On Roger Craig over Smith. For a better explanation see the 1965-75 team when people like Gale Sayers and OJ Simpson were excluded from that team, though, like Smith they had the honors and stats, etc. We were trying to honor the guys pf the mid-decades AMAP. But, I get your point, but to follow your argument, which is a good one, OJ Simpson would be on the 1965-75 team as would Gale Sayers, maybe even John Mackey, Lance Alworth, Herb Adderly, etc. Again, look at the 1965-75 team

In an excercise such as this, it's not always cut and dried. As for Craig, it was his 1984-89 years, his peak, that mattered to us.John Turneyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06612706488776938253noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4958997061437462003.post-70310745596120779692016-05-25T00:24:46.616-06:002016-05-25T00:24:46.616-06:001. Joe wasn't that great from 1985-87 (he was hurt for some of 86, and benefited from playing some scab games in 87). Then, he had his peak in this time period from 88-90, but then missed the most of the next two years. Also, before retiring in 1995, he didn't post great numbers in his two years in Kansas City.

2. Roger Craig? He was nothing from 1990-95. Heck, by 89, he was starting to decline. The Niners let him go a year too late. Emmitt Smith should be in his place. Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
