Downs could be anywhere from 80-100. (2) Downs was not in Easley's league. Downs was first-team All-Pro once. Easley was All-Pro four times. <br /><br />Easley went to 5 Pro Bowls, Downs went to none.<br /><br />Easley was the 1984 Defensive Player of the Year--not just the best safety but the best defensive player in the NFL.<br /><br />So, I appreciate that you think I may have underrated Downs. That may be true or maybe not. Just think it's facile to base the weighting *strictly* on the difference in interception rates. I still think INTs vs. total # of INTs in the league would be the best way to do it. That would automatically take into account whether today's passes are "less interceptable" or not. Isn't that sorta how they do "by era" weighting" for say QB?
