Beginning in 1970, the merger year, the NFL Record Manual was available at any bookstore/drug store/newsstand that sold paperback books. It was published by Fawcett Gold Medal and sold for $1.25. Later, Signet and then Dell printed the "fan" edition through 1983. In 1984, the NFL combined the Record Manual and Media Information Guide into the NFL Record & Fact Book, which remains to this day.
