Packers Reveal New White Helmet

By John Turney

Well, another white helmet.  This one is called "Winter Warning" but we think it's more WFWS (white for white's sake).

Our question is why did they not put a yellow stripe between the green stripes?

We suppose it is to be consistent with the gold helmet ... but all we can say is this may have been the better look—

The actual helmet is on the left, and a Photoshopped yellow-striped lid is on the right.

It's not a pass or fail. The white helmet is unnecessary.

Why?

  1. isn't the (NFL's) point of all this just to have more merchandise for people to purchase?......it just looks stupid to change stuff up for change sake.....(throwbacks are an entirely different thing since they speak to the history of a team.....)

    1. Yes--it's about sales. I was asking rhetorically --- of course it is about money. But a helmet? The marginal sales would pale (pardon pun) in comparison to a jersey. Helmets are for a bookcase. Hard to think it moves the needle very much. Seems like it's a fad, these white helmets.

  2. They should just use 1956 throwback uniforms instead of these monstrosities
