Ward can make unbelievable plays with his arm. Shough and Dart can also play. Ward reminds me of a smaller Cam Newton, without his running ability of course. Dart needs to stop running and preserve his health ...
Dart over Ward if going by quality of play when they played. However, if games played was factored in, then that could explain Ward over Dart. However, then why Simmons over Membou?
First off, great picks as you guys saw alot more of these players and games than I did.
Just some of my thoughts ... I felt Zabel should have been first team. Yes, Fannin was impressive, helping out Sanders but with a dismal season, I felt Loveland was more important for the Bears winning their division with Odunze hurt and Moore having a down year. I do consider him more of a wide receiver than tight end.
QBs are tough ... Ward and Dart played more and went through their lumps but I felt Shough really rallied a dismal Saints team. Ward made alot of negative plays but did improve, especially with other rookie receivers, while Dart showed he will be a future star but has to protect his body more. Too many concussions, already. Hopefully, he will get better protection and weapons for next season.
Good call on the backs, though Monangai seemed to give the Bears a shot in the arm. Will he continue his play in postseason?
On defense, I would put Carter slightly ahead of Ezeiruaku, who was better against the run. Carter had the pressures without the sacks but cost his team with immaturity, missing games.
Dike had an outstanding season and should get better as a receiver if the Titans dont upgrade the position with free agents or rookies next year. Thanks for the two-cents!
I am down so bad as a Jets fan that coming here to see all-rookie 1st team selections for Austin McNamara and Armand Membou seemed as exciting as anything. Then, like almost all things Jets-related, I ended up disappointed.
Membou played more than two times as many games as Simmons did..
McNamara had great punting stats for a historically awesome special teams unit according to DVOA. I get the argument for the Denver punter but not the Saints one.
In the end, to each their own and I can do my one list and all that.
Ward > Dart????
