So far this season Matt Ryan has fumbled eleven times. That would be high, but relatively normal if it had happened through sixteen or seventeen games, not five.
As per Stathead, Pro Football Reference's data search engine, his current average of 2.2 is ahead of another Colt—Jack Trudeau who fumbled eleven times in 1990, while playing six games.
Ryan is on pace for - if he plays all 17 games - a total of 37 fumbles which would smash their current record of 23 held by Kerry Collins and Daunte Culpepper.
In fact, to break the ignominious record he would have to average just over one game for the next twelve games. Likely not the way to impress your new employers.
Of course, he's not going to get to 37 fumbles, but 24? That's not out of the question.
Well, unless, he starts holding on to the ball when in the pocket when he's hit or when defenders try to strip-sack him.
The list (minimum of five games and ten fumbles)—
