Last Sunday fans watching the Chargers-Browns game in Cleveland got to enjoy what turned out to be a rare game and we don't mean the odd choice of Brandon Staley going for it on fourth down with just over a minute left and the Browns out of timeouts. The Chargers failed, got into field goal range, tried, and missed a game-winning kick, saving Staley's bacon.
Those in the stadium and also watching on television/the Internet got to see Nick Chubb glide for 134 yards leading the Browns to 213 yards rushing. They also saw Austin Ekeler weave through traffic for 173 yards which was the bulk of the Chargers total of 238 rushing yards.
Jacoby Brissett, the Browns quarterback, and Justin Herbert, the Chargers signal-caller, both threw for around 230 yards and lost just one yard in sacks between the two of them resulting in both teams totaling over 200 yards net passing.
That marked just the fifth time in NFL history that both teams had over 200 yards rushing and 200 yards passing in the same game.

It seems a little odd that it happened a couple of times in the early 1950s and then not again until the late 1990s and that the pair of games in the early 1950s were between the same two teams in consecutive years.
In the New York Yanks-Los Angeles Rams tilts in 1950 and 1951 neither team in either game had a 200-yard passer. The passing yardage was amassed by multiple passers.
George Taliaferro of the Yanks had the best individual performance in either of the games with 166 yards rushing and two touchdowns on the ground in the November 11, 1951 contest. The Rams "Deacon" Dan Towler had gained 155 yards in that same game.
