Puka Nacua Sets Rams Rookie Debut Receiving Records

 By John Turney
Puka Nacua
Carroll Dale on September 23, 1960, caught 5 passes for 106 yards and a touchdown.

That is significant because those are the most-ever for a Rams rookie making his NFL debut. The touchdown record is tied with Cooper Kupp who caught one in 2017 in his first game.

Today Puka Nacua out of BYU broke the reception and yardage mark with ten catches for 119 yards in the Rams' open versus the Seattle Seahawks in Seattle's Lumen Field—A game the Rams won 30-13.

Nacua got his playing time due to an injury to Kupp who went on injured reserve late this week. Without that, he does not get the chance to get so many snaps.

His day was not flawless, there were a couple of drops and maybe route errors—one pointed out by FOX analyst Mark Sanchez but there were a couple of misfires by quarterback Matthew Stafford or the numbers might have been even bigger.

Additionally, Nacua is now one of four NFL players to catch ten passes for 100 yards in his first career game along with Keke Coutee, Anquan Boldin and Sid Blanks per ESPN Stats and Information.
Nice job, rook.

  1. From Brian wolf ...

The Seahawks secondary wished these receivers, Nacua and Atwell had stayed buried in their cellphones and not had good communication with Stafford, who had protection today.

Purdy still continues to impress in the regular season despite elbow surgery. The Niners took it to the Steelers today and same old story with the Bears against the Packers.
Very surprised how listless the Bengals were today, though Burrow had missed training camp time. The Browns ran the ball down their throat.
