1948 Don Hutson NFL All-Time Team

 LOOKING BACK
By Chris Willis, NFL Films

Today, PFJ will take a look at the NFL All-Time Team by the great Don Hutson. In 1948, just three years after retiring from the Packers as a player, Hutson gave the Green Bay Press-Gazette his All-Time Team of players he played against. He included five players from the rival Chicago Bears, and maybe one surprise be naming Giants end Jim Poole.

Hutson choose:

Ends- Bill Hewitt, Jim Poole

Tackles- Turk Edwards, George Christensen

Guards- Dan Fortmann, Riley Matheson

Center- Bulldog Turner

Quarterback- Sid Luckman

Halfbacks- Cliff Battles, Steve Van Buren

Fullback- Bronko Nagurski

  1. We all know about Rice, Warfield, Berry, Alworth, Moss, Largent and others but was any player as dominant while basically inventing the position than Hutson ?

He was so good that fellow opponent receivers, Benton and Kavanaugh still cant make the HOF ...
