Select Group of Defensive Interior Player Statistics

By John Turney
Kawann Short
Through 14 games this season Aaron Donald is the clear top dog among defensive tackles in the NFL. He leads the NFL with 16.5 sacks and he leads the NFL in QB hits and according to some of the analytical sites, he's tops among hits and hurries.

In addition to his tackles for loss, you can also add to the total his tackles for no gain and when you are done, tallying the sacks and tackles for loss and tackles for no gain it accounts for 63.5% percent of this total tackles, the highest in the NFL.

A no gain is a 'win' for the defense because even if it's 4th and 1, a no gain turns the ball over. So, it's a big play much of the time.

In terms of plays that result in no gain or a loss, excluding sacks Kawann Short is tops with 19, followed by Jurrell Casey with 17 and Damon Harrison with 16 then  Donald with 14.

Here is the list of 'Percentage of tackles for no gain or loss'.

  1. I like your guys system of putting together the sack and stuffs to get stacks.

I give plus marks for any tackle 3 yards or less.
