Matthew Slater is one of the best special teams players ever—we ranked him ninth all-time but one reason he wasn't a bit higher is that his prowess was in coverage alone, not a combination of coverage and blocking kicks.
Today, for the first time in his career he blocked a kick, a punt versus Dallas. This year also marks his first fumble recovery on special teams as well.
